Dharma Eye is a collective of practitioning Buddhist photographers putting their art in support of beneficial dharma causes.
25% of all proceeds from fine art print sales and image licensing through Dharma Eye are donated to its featured cause of a given month.
The intent behind forming Dharma Eye came during a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in the company of Venerable Tsoknyi Rinpoche in 2007.
This was to create a base where practitioning photographers working in modern mediums – contemporary artistic sangha – could come together in mutual benefit, where both the artistic sangha could find focus and support while putting the compassionately motivated art to direct support of causes that support the dharma and instigate positive change in the world with genuine benefit in mind.
To this end, Dharma Eye was formed in the summer of 2012 with this intent integrated in its core. For two years the project was incubated, and after a few years of dedicating virtually all my time to the development and growth of The Yogini Project…
In the first half of 2014 Dharma Eye was brought to the forefront at last. In a few months time of drawing in vital new talent into the collective; meeting with my heart teacher Kyabje Tsoknyi Rinpoche and Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche in Kathmandu in the days surrounding Losar (Tibetan New Year) 2014 for guidance and blessings; and initiating development of several book projects and article series with prominent Buddhist publishers, Dharma Eye emerged in a beautiful way. Crina Radu, my partner, came in as gallery manager, and Dharma Eye was born.
